In 1985, Dale Moore founded Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical Construction, Inc. with a Vision of three goals: One, to build a company that our team members could be proud of and feel is the best place they have ever worked. Two, to give our customers the best service they had ever experienced. And three, to give back to the communities we serve. Now, over twenty years later, our Vision remains the same, and the company has grown to over 350 full-time employees serving the entire state of Virginia and northern North Carolina. Moore’s is also licensed to do business in South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Good safety performance is no accident. It is the result of training, awareness, and hard work on the part of all of our team members. Our Mission at Moore’s is to be committed to protecting the company’s greatest asset - our people. We will achieve this goal by creating sound Health and Safety Polices and Procedures which will be supported by continued training and accountability. By committing to these principles we can ensure each of our partners the highest quality of professional life both on and off the jobsite. For Moore’s, safety never takes the day off. Moore’s takes safety very seriously, and continually trains and promotes safety in all of our divisions. Steve Rogers is our full time Safety Director. He comprehensively reviews all safety guidelines with our customers’ safety representatives, and visits our partners on the job sites. We hold safety classes for all supervisors and managers, as well as, initial safety training for all new team members before they start on the job. Safety talks are held weekly on every field job, and are monitored with written reports. Preventative safety memos are sent out with every paycheck to every employee. We also send out incident statements to our employees in the event of an accident. Plus, employees are rewarded for achieving safety related goals throughout the year. We are excited to be a member of the “Central District Safety Alliance” which is a new concept and initiative being sponsored by the Central Virginia District of the Association of General Contractors of Virginia (AGC). The purpose of the Alliance is to create a cooperative and focused effort among the membership to support and improve everyone’s safety performance. The goals of the “Safety Alliance” are to Prevent Accidents, establish a “Safety Culture”, provide a resource for training and education, provide hazard awareness through job site audits, and promote a partnership between General Contractors and Subcontractors.
